Frequently asked questions

Straight answers, no demo required. Anything else: ask us.

Is the OFAC search really free?

Yes. Searching the SDN and Consolidated lists, and browsing every General License, sanctions program, exemption, and Treasury FAQ, is free with no login and no card. It is informational only — not a compliance determination. Paid tiers cover the workflow: screening your own payments, alerts on your own names, and regulatory reporting.

Which sanctions lists do you cover?

OFAC first: the SDN and Consolidated lists plus General Licenses, updated within minutes of Treasury publication. Gauntlet also screens client-supplied internal and vendor lists and crypto wallets against SDN-designated addresses. EU, UK (OFSI), and UN screening are on the roadmap — we never price or claim coverage we haven't turned on.

How fresh is the data?

Our ingestion watches Treasury continuously and lands changes in under five minutes at the 95th percentile. Every screening decision records the exact list version and publish date it ran against, so results are reproducible for examiners.

Are you SOC 2 certified?

SOC 2 Type I is in progress, with Security, Availability, and Confidentiality in scope; Type II follows after the observation window. Recon's stateless, zero-data-retention architecture already answers most security-questionnaire items — the attestation pack is available on request.

Does your AI train on our data?

No. The Recon research agent runs on Anthropic under a Zero Data Retention agreement — API inputs are not retained and never used for training. Recon itself is stateless by default: queries and briefs are not persisted on our infrastructure unless your account opts in.

Can we pay by invoice instead of a card?

Yes. Banks and credit unions typically pay annually by ACH or wire against a net-terms invoice — that's a standard path, not an exception. Self-serve card and ACH checkout is also available for the published tiers.

Will it work behind our bank's firewall?

Yes — content pages work with JavaScript disabled and third-party requests blocked, over standard TLS 1.2+, with no CAPTCHA and no client certificates. Your IT team can allowlist us from the network-access page.

How is this different from a screening vendor like Fircosoft or World-Check?

Two ways: we publish our prices (most incumbents are quote-only, with entry points around $50k a year), and the reference layer is free for everyone. You pay for workflow — screening, monitoring, case management, and filings — not for reading public facts.

Do you replace our case management or core system?

No. Gauntlet ingests payment files in the formats banks already use (NACHA, ISO 20022, SWIFT MT, Fedwire, CHIPS, BAI2 and more), and dispositions export in examiner-ready form. You keep your core; Bulwark handles the sanctions workflow around it.
